can i put a jub or any thin coat over a painted garden wall? as the wall is single skin,it has small cracks from movement from a main road.firstly would it stick to the paint ok and would the small cracks in the wall come through the thin coat?
cheers
rob

Bobby, do you need a textured finish? We can provide all of Jubs range. We do sell JUB Revital Colour-AG which is a crack bridging paint guaranteed for hairline cracks up-to 0.3mm alavliable in any colour. 2 different self cleaning options are also available.

We can also provide a spec for you on wall your looking to do and advise on primers basecoats etc

when u say textured finish what do you mean? the rest of the property is a sand and cement finish so the smaller the texture the better i think.

A textured finish would normally be 1.5mm so wouldn't really match the rest of the S/C. I would advise jet washing the wall, it may even need a fungicidal wash. Then prime the service with unigrund, then paint over the top. That will not really change the previous texture

your asking for trouble going over any substrate with cracks in, with out adequete prep work or adequete remedial work.
stick a tight base coat over with 5 mil mesh then top it off with acrylic.
it doesnt have tobe a 1.5mm finish that is quite course, you can get 0.5 or 1mm, the differance doesnt sound a lot but on a panel you can see the differance.

Parex 0.5mm is fining down equivalent but is spray only really on large areas. 1mm is tight and a pleasing finish if a little textured. 1.5 is a roughcast in comparison

cheers for the replies chaps.hopefully buying a machine soon that wall could be a good 1 to have a go on.do i prime the wall first before base coat?

Hi Bobby,Yes you have to prime the wall first. The primer is normally tinted to the top coat colour as well. Give us a call if you need to look at any machines.Ryan
