is it possible to apply jub top coat over a painted wall using just the top coat? a custumer has had a gable end rendered in sand and cement, its been painted and looks bloody aweful!!
if i use the same colour would this be ok?

If the paint is fairly new you might get away with it. Make sure it is clean. Jub primer over the paint then top coat. No warranty given though!

All down to cost really.he does'nt want to pay to render it again which is understandable.its fairly flat, just loads of float marks and lines in the wall.

I had to pass on a job like this last year, the are products for it but expensive ...when the customer has already paid out once.....

I wouldn't even bother with the primer if he is after a cheap fix.
Bear in mind that the 1.5 topcoat is only going to follow what's there so if its really rough this may not be a solution

Like Richard said you won't hide any imperfections with 1.5 top coat, if it was me I would give it a tight coat rend aid with mesh bedded in . Then put mechanical fixings through the mesh and a tight coat of OCR . Roller with tint and top it with your acrylic top coat, if you explain it's worth paying the extra so he's got peace of mind it won't come off after a a bad winter .!!!!!!!!

It'll probably not be as flat as you think it is, once you start putting it on.

You'll hide shite loads of imperfections with 1.5mm topcoat. After you've used 1mm or even 0.5mm the 1.5 is like fine painted dash in comparison. Anyway, one tight coat of parinter with mesh if he can afford and top away. It'll look perfect.

just hi build the f0cer, roller it, done.

sure JUB have a solution for this like a product i use have a gum that goes on like a primer fills any small imperfections or cracks then you can acrylic over that. ring em an ask

weber flexi or leyland/jhonstones hi build.

elastomeric coating like thick rubbery paint you trowel it on and the finish to the desired pattern

Will cover **** loads of imperfections at 1.5 mm thick ...............I don't think so buddy

right i`ve had a word with the customer and he`s given me the nod to cover the painted gable with a base coat with mesh then top with finish.what is the right spec for this.can i download it from somewhere.will probably use jub or similar .cheers
