what does a 6 month coarse entail, does the person stay in college learning the practical and written aspects of it then jump straight in on site or somebodies house when its finished.Thats when you need an expieranced spread along side you to keep an eye on you ,to let you know where your going wrong and what your doing right,if i had one alongside me i would make sure he knew how to mix up, clean up, bead up, scrim up,before i would let him near a wall.
he might be alright dot and dabbing his 6x6 bathroom and skimming his little ceiling with half a bag of finish but try doing it 5 days aweek 300 days a year day in day out the arsehole would know how hard it is then,by the way he must be shite a tiling if hes going on a coarse
you can tell the arsehole yourself mr hes arrived, nobody said it wasnt hard physically, ive seen plasterers at work and and some of the skills they possess,i do not want to work as a plasterer, just enough knowledge to sort my own walls out,end of!!!!! as for the 6 months (course) its basically aimed at school leavers, they get a progression award, that means the have passed all the assessments in the trade and can do the job including the mathematics and stuff that goes with plastering,i doubt very much half the plasterers out there can do that, then hopefully the youngsters can get a apprenticeship when they leave college yous all need to wind your necks in and encourage people joost sayin!!!!!
so youre doing a course so you dont have to pay a plasterer to straighten your walls out before you tile it? oh and half the plasterers out there who cant do the mathematics and stuff that go with plastering arent plasterers mr.
A lot of lads think they can do this course then go into plastering full time that's where the tension comes from so get you're ******* facts right mr been there seen it and knows **** all before you start telling people to wind there necks in

i love reading the banter on this forum ,only spreads can do it in this mad style ! it come's from spreading all day long ( to put up with the monotony ) you have to go with in-yourself and deeply think thing's through ,this in turn make you lose your marbles, a bit in some cases & a lot in others, but you will never know this suave as you will only ever do a few m2 but you can enjoy the more laid back approach to the forum ! a great place to come .....

Dear Mr Tiler
I have looked at a job today which requires a liquid DPM and a latex over that will cover from 8 to 45 mm. I have found the Mira Xplan to be a good product to work with and has given us good results in the past. I was wondering if any one has laid this over a Thoro Seal or Vandex DPM, and if there are any likely compatability issues.
Yours
Mr Plasterer
