Been plastering few yrs , just found website , great forum chaps , just though I'd say hello , just a quick question lads , I normally just nail my corner rendering beads on , would it be okay to use dot and dab compound to stick them thanks

Hi Benny

Welcome to the forum mate!

before the fun starts.... don;t use gypsum dab adhesive outside...

Now you can expect the comments about using the search function... LOL

Don't worry, your new. Don't let the banter put you off - keep asking and searching

Have fun!!

Good afternoon Benny, as above don't use any gypsum plaster externally that's a big no no! If you don't want to nail beads I sometimes press them into my scratchcoat plumbing them up etc or levelling (window heads etc) bellcasts I think you have to fix by either nails or drill, plugs, screws and washers as I do. Bit of a FAFF but they don't come off :RpS_thumbup:

I have done 2 jobs in the past where some one has stuck on beads with dot and dab and they have failed, it was a a couple of years after it was done. We got a couple of nice jobs out of putting raised bands around all doors and windows. I saw 3 lengths of belcast come away with the tap of a hammer. For these reasons I do not use adhesive for external beads, I know some on here do and will tell you its fine but why gamble. :RpS_thumbsup:

Anyways tell us more about your slapstick comedy and being chased by lots of women in underwear while slapping a little bald man on the head please :RpS_laugh:

Welcome to the forum benny1, have seen it done before will no ill effects, but tbh i personally wouldnt use it:RpS_thumbup:

I could so take that the wrong way..... if i thought I was the topic of all conversation and this forum's banter revolves solely around me..... which it probably should now that i think about it
