Hi guys, need a bit of info on k-lime, anyone had a go with it by hand, got a 200 year cottage to render, all hacked off and guess what cob stone bedded with chalk, brick, block, bits of stone work all over the place. The guy did want the silicone thin coat system but the wall in and out are looking damp so I think it need lime render, so I was thinking k-lime what do you think, or should I just do my own sand and lime mix, going to use no beads also make look old but new.
cheers guys.

Cheers bud, he did want the 1.5mm grained silicone thin coat system but that would be no good on solid walls as the wall needs to let the moisture out, so I'm thinking lime, as its 200 old it would suit the building. No done no test panels he just wants it to not crack and look good.:RpS_thumbsup:

You could use marmorits up210 or flotto with mesh then their noblo and silicone paint or conni.
Should be fully breathable and won't crack.

Cheers bud, I'm from Plymouth moved up ere a couple of years ago, bit quiet up here compared to Plymouth but I'm like it, what part are you from?

k lime

good gear ...with minimal cracking..

..just completed a job using this render ...

we would always reccomend lime render for stone built properties
(breathes and also keeps character in my opinion)

What's it like to use, do you need time to get a feel for it,( courses etc) also what's it like expense wise compared to normal sand cement work?

Yea I said that to him but it was already rendered by some .anker and he used sand and cement and when I got there I just pulled it off with my hands.top job....

not really that much different to s/c (apart from colour) and the need to look ou
for cracking (lime allows you to close them up with trowel / finish cracks can be repaired by sponging the area...

direct building
213 backing coat around 7.50
finish 9.00
