K Rend Damp stain

Hi Everyone,

I have a query with regards to my new build house. K rend was applied in May 2024. In October we noticed staining appearing after rain in areas where cement board lay underneath. Our plasterer came in December to view the problem and has said he has never seen it before and regularly deals with k rend. He thinks it may be caused by contaminants in the plaster board seeping into the render when damp. The only time stains are not visible is when we have had heavy rain. They are getting progressively worse and unfortunately are only at the front of the house so it’s very visible and an eyesore. Can anyone advise on how best to deal with the problem apart from removing the cement board underneath! Hope for dry weather in the summer and apply sealant? Paint it? Thanks very much

Are there steels (rsj's or catnic beans) behind where the patches are?

Apologies! K rend was applied in May 2024 so marks appeared within 5 months of application

Thanks for that. Any advice for repair?

Depends how far your going

I'd do it all myself for what it's worth.

Off she comes - assess - improve everything and be more thorough on the reinstating. Whether it be contaminated muck, an issue on the day or an ongoing leak.
