Killing suction for first coat

Hi all

I usually just damp down or use some diluted sbr before scratch coat but a few of the walls I need to render on job look very porous!!

Just wondered if any of you use a different brand that offers could results ?

You could prime with diluted sbr but you will need to apply a tack coat of sbr before applying render. Let the primer dry overnight.

When you say tack coat, I take it you mean sbr mixed with opc which I thought was supposed to be rendered on whilst tacky which is difficult I would just use rend aid its idiot proof.

Any jewson or minster store will get it in mate ,they are all the same company as weber ,best to leave the rendaid for 2/3 days before top coating

Had a quote from Jewsons for pral m a few months back.13.50 plus.
8.75 from Sig!!!

I know what your saying Bob ,i spend a lot with my branch and get a good deal

Don't get wrong I have good terms with Jewsons.they get weber stuff in from minsters who are both part of the same group

You say leave for 2-3 days then top coat ? I was going to go over it in 2 coat S&c?
