Nice job mike, what did you use to seal it?

A couple of coats of waterseal followed by two coats of wax. Works a treat

hi mike i did a few splash backs the only thing with them is the hot iol splashes from cooking maybe suggest some kind of clear perrspex or glass just where the cooker is its happined to me a few times now

This is a damn good point as the waterseal is not oil proof. On this occasion there was a stainless steel panel fitted behind the hob after the venetian plastering was finished. Also all the corners were fitted with a small stainless steel angle for effect!
