Hi all

Gutted with this one. I have been plastering a couple of days a week for the last few months on various jobs. Doin other non manual work the other days. Although i have been plastering about 4 yrs i only do it occasionally.

Over the last few months my right elbow is givving me some serious pain when i extend it. The pain is constant now and does not go when i rest 4/5 days in the week. Prob tennis elbow.

Im confused as im left handed and lay on with the left hand although i do use the right arm to pull in from the right side of the wall.

So why is the right elbow goosed? And what can i do to help with the pain as the rest is not enough.

Im really unhappy as it looks like my arm is not up to this type of work. If i had to plaster 5 days a week i would last about a month :-( Really enjoy it as well and was just starting to get happy with the standard of my work.

Take the pain mate and suck it up that's what most do. If it's the your arm which you hold the handboard with try putting less gear on it .

ill hazard a guess you dont use a board and stand but use a tub andbucket trowel .imo one of the biggest mistakes you can make its not good on the wrist ,forearms elbows unessary strain

yep gorrilla bucket and trowhawk :RpS_laugh:

Often areas are too small to set board up- i do own one

got it in one mate, i just deal with my f**k*d up ankle. learn to live with it. a spread i work with takes 8 pain killers a day as his wrists are completely f**k*d. struggles to change gear on the way to work in the mornings. its part of the trade unfortunately

and then you get hooked on the pills. Slippery slope..

trowhawk give over get rid of it mate that will put strain on elbow do what rock says an get a board an stand set up
Monk why get rid of it It dosent put any strain on the elbow its designed to work comfortable with ie not heavy laden like the hawk try it if you havent used one how can you comment on it .PS youd find it a bit difficult in a small area with ya stand and spot .
