never used it, mp finish is spray or hand applied. it is lovely stuff far far better than bg. any1 that says knauf plaster is shite just dont know how to use it

Is this the stuff you have to sponge or just trowel up as normal. I thought the projection plaster was mp75???

just trowel as normal, mp75 is projection plaster but is a one coat system and mp finish is the skim coat

I want to try th MP finish but can't find anywhere in the Portsmouth area that stocks it. Anyone fom down this way know?

generally no1 stocks it unless its a special arrangement through knauf.

either speak to a rep or ring around. if there is a site that is knauf spec then usuallt there is a merchant that has loads in all the time

thinking of using it on 700m2 4 bed i`ve got coming up.been using bg for 20 yrs.a bit worried about the change!do you lay first coat, same thickness.flatten in.second coat as you would with bg?do you get same coverage?

When we were using it on Barratts we would fill the beads and tapers out then give it a coat , you can lay it down as normal it will go a lot further and dont use any water on the first trowel and very little there on in i found

Thats because barratts get money back from knauf for each unit they use it in. Well at least they used to not sure about now

Its fantastic stuff you just have to get use to it, plastered a whole house with it, only downside is as said above its difficult to get hold of, if it was as easy to get as BG I honestly think everyone would use it

knauf are complete idiots when it comes to marketing, i was talking to the rep the other day and said they need to get it into merchants but they are more concerned about controling price., They also got a habbit of telling contractors what to pay for labour.

i no theyre a bit of a joke. unless u get a deal set up through a rep of have a big discount on account, it costs a fortune. plus most places will only get u a pallet at a time

Used it a few times on jobs in the past, gives a more matte finish iirc. Takes a bit longer to mix up I think as I seam to remember you have to mix it then leave it for 5 mins before mixing it back up again. No idea what it's like now as I've not seen it anywhere.

Universal board finish has been discontinued now.

MP finish is an acquired taste in my opinion...but well worth acquiring!

I get it from Hardcore Building Supps in Sheff and it's 20p a bag dearer than multi....which means its cheaper because it goes much further!

Im working me way through a pallet at the minute that i got talked into buying. It was good kit at the start but i think thats just because it was different, ive probably done about 400m2 with it, find it easy to use but it doesn't rate against BG. IMO

The firm i bought it from did me a really good deal, but then put everything up by 6 % the Rep has been hard to get hold of also, comes across as a wise arse that likes to cut about in his company car, going to various demos larging it. Just my experience of it. Id stick with BG better gear.

Had the rep in the other week, TE boards should be taped and filled approx hour before you start and you should mix it up and let it stand for 2 or 3 minutes before knocking it back up again. Very little water should be used and aim for a matt finish not polished.

As I have said before - this is not my area of expertise, but here goes..........

MP Finish is different to the BG Plaster, you can machine apply and hand apply!

It is left on the wall longer before re working..... one bag goes a lot further...........

If you want to give it a go, get in touch with your local Knauf Rep via your local Knauf stockist, or give the office a ring (01795 424499) and ask for local contact to you, or get in touch with me and I will try to help.

Also, don't just try to use it as you would your normal gear....... read up on it, ask the knauf rep for help! As the guys above have said, it is good once you get used to using it....

Dan - PM me your contact details and I will get the local guy to find some for you!

Anyone interested in spraying MP finish, and already with a machine, get in touch with your machine supplier for assistance or contact Knauf and ask for the contact details of your local technical instrutor or our finishing business development manager - Clive (also Quinns on this forum)............

If you have heard about the other Knauf Ready Mix Spray Plasters and want to give them a go - Clive (Quinns) is you man for that as well!

Good Luck to everyone for the new year!!
