Hi Everybody. I am new to this forum and a DIYer looking for a bit of advice regarding the use of Knauff Plasterboard Adhesive. I have been using it to stick 72.5mm Kingspan K118 insulated plasterboard to some walls but there is a short section of wall where I need to use a thinner board. As K118 is expensive and only available in multiples of 11, I was proposing to just use a single sheet of 50mm thick Kingspan Therma instead. Both the K118 and the Therma have a foil backing but whereas the foil on the K118 is slight ribbed it is much smoother on the Therma.
Will Knauff plasterboard adhesive satisfactorily stick Therma to a wall? Would it be best to apply PVA to the foil to help adhesion?
Once fixed it will be over-boarded with Marmox again stuck with the adhesive and the whole construction mechanically fixed to the wall with screws and washers.
Thanks.
