I'm in exactly the same boat mate and I'm only an hour away from you. I've not had solid work since end of February and It does get depressing :'(

I'm a multi trader with lots of experience and can't get a sniff. I've lowered myself to applying for labourer jobs and unskilled work but to be honest when these companies see my C.V. i think they suss I won't stick around when things pick up (they're right).

I've canceled sky so no more babestation which has hit me hard, no help with mortgage of government and two kids to feed som debt creeping up.

Still, i know it won't last for ever and good things come to those who wait, so chin up buddy ;)

Oh and use jobcentre to get funding while your off, I'm doing telehandler cpcs this week at a cost of £900 all funded by government. You might as well get something outta it.

roofer yep will use them i tried to get help doing a course for pet shop mamagement costs a bit about 550 and i got offered nowt even tho i said it would lead to a job if i did it not too sure where to find out about getting funding and what you can do any help in that direction would be of help cheers

contact local enterprise agency in blackpool mate. Try these...

Blackpool Enterprise Centre, Lytham Rd, Blackpool, Lancashire FY4 1EW 01253 345870. And talk to those assholes at jobcentre about funding. They will know about it but it's like getting blood from a stone.
I got £600 of Enterprise and £300 of Jobcentre.
