hi guys
Not surr if im posting in the right place here. I have just bought a flat in a victorian conversion, removed the wall paper and the plaster underneath is cracked through the top two layers in one area and blown in about 6 other places. its lathe and plaster.
i'm thinking the damage is pretty bad so it will all need to come off and be boarded but there are some curved sections of the wall, will i have to loose these or can they be repaired/replicated? Also ive been told i can save a few quid by removing it all myself.
Can i cause more damage, is it best to leave it to the professionals?
thanks!!!

Hi Cj,
Best thing to do would be to ask 2 or 3 local plasterers to have a look and get their opinions first hand :RpS_thumbup:

i love doing curved walls....infact i enjoy plastering lath walls....think its a shame if its all ripped out and replaced by board,a lot of the character as in lumps n bumps are lost.

No mate you don't have to loose the curves you can get a 6mm flexible board. Also as long as you don't go crashing in like a loon I can't see as you could do to much damage by removing the old plaster yourself.
