lime plastering

hi, i'm too busy so looking for someone very experienced in lime plastering 2 coat and some areas 3 coat - internal walls. Job is in Bakewell derbyshire, start date probably three weeks.

All materials supplied - price for 100 sq m but will probably be more

Church is experienced in lime work and i think he has slowed up at the moment so he might be worth a shout.

Lime plastering is unlike any other it takes ages as each coat needs 5 - 7 days minimum to carbonate before next coat can be put on also 2 coat work wont look very good so allow for 3 coats... and expect to pay good money for it

thanks mate, i love my job. my dad told me when i was a kid that if i learnt as much as i can then i would never be short of work because 90% of my generation are just boarders and skimmers. he gave me a book to read when i was 13, and it went from there i think i have read nearly every book on plastering haha sad twit arnt i ;D anyway its all the new stuff i dint know much about, you know all this mono and spray stuff?

i have read alot of your posts and you seem to know atot mate, do you do any fibrous stuff?

Not much really mostly making good as and when required , you will not go far wrong learning about the traditional side of plastering there will always be a market for it ,but times change and words used for new products and systems seem to get longer made to sound more complicated truth is , its all the same just different ;D

i know what you are saying mate

the only reason i ask about fibrous mate is, i know in theory how to do it all, but i want to have a bit of hands on, i am going to start practising but i think if i work alongside someone fore a day or so to get some practical experience it will save me making a mess ;D i have made some ceiling roses but all i did was bought a ceiling rose, took a mould from it and then cast a few of my own, thats simple enough but its all the running that interests me, thats where you get a feel of the materials you are working with

na not really, swearing only spoils it you have to be witty and good at putting people down and finding fault in anything and picking up on people weaknesses, any way im not giving you any more info dope.
