iv just finish this job whith lime mortar external whith lime wash and same inside but whith clay paint it in the wettest place in UK under foot of mount snowdon has anybody worked whith lime mortar what they think of it?
 
Iv done the house it self in lime mortar which have 2 ft walls so it does work because when it rains the dampnes will dry out before the next spell of rain but I'm not shoure bout the slate chimney I'm thinking of using waterproof

Your be fine with lime Cary, you don't get much going thru slate

Your be fine with lime Cary, you don't get much going thru slate
True m8 but it going to thru pointing and ther only 10in thick no wher for the rain to absourbe like a big stone wall and the rain is never ending here espeshely winnter months

Never had cement and waterproofer 100+ years ago
