Iv done the house it self in lime mortar which have 2 ft walls so it does work because when it rains the dampnes will dry out before the next spell of rain but I'm not shoure bout the slate chimney I'm thinking of using waterproofLove it

True m8 but they had fire going ol day in those days to dry the flue out so any rain absorbed dry out fastNever had cement and waterproofer 100+ years ago
