hello all,

i'v been sent some plans through to price a school extension, i have the measurments/drawings/cd ect and im looking forward to hopefully winning my first job.

theres about 200m external rendering to do - weber rend OCR

i'v not used this product before, i usually mix sand & cement. but the company have asked for this product.

where can i get it from, is it something local merchants will stock or does it need ordering in and of coarse how much does it cost (ballpark)

i know its pre-bagged stuff but how far does a bag go, and how much should i be looking to pay p/m2 if i decide to sub it out.

i only ask because i want to do the internal works myself, and have to price the externals aswell.

like said i only render with sand and cement usually and have not been asked to use this product before.

many thanks, mac

Mac after much anticipation i recently decided to have a go with this kit instead of S&C, and found it really good. The process is exactly the same but much easier to use, quite pleased with the result.

You can find all the details on webers site, however i don't think they deal with the trade may be wrong, i was fortunate that my local merchants stock it.

It was £12.64 less vat per bag i got it for £8.35 a bag in the end, not sure how good a price this is but the end result was mega with a lot less fuss.

1.8 KG of kit will do 1m2 at 1mm thickness, we set 15mm bead which worked out at 27kg per m2 (1 bag basically !!!)

Hope this helps.

use 10mm beads mate and push for 1.5m2 a bag and try and change the spec to cpi and you will get it for about £3.60 ish a bag, but when you price it allow for a m2 per bag just in case the block work is not so good, if your tied to weber try sheffield insulation should get it much cheaper than that

i have found some prices and about £9 p/bag inc vat seems the norm i'll try for cheaper though.

i take it this is applied the same as s&c, or is the OCR "one coat render" im not keen on 1 coating anything i even have to gloss the skirting twice at home.

any ballpark figures on rate got to be £7-£10 p/m2 for a subbie surely?

£6.00 per bag is the best i'v got now, so i'll go at 25kg per m2 as there is some existing masonary to go over.

would be grateful if anyone knew the going rate for £ p/m2 on rendering as i have never done this on price before.

thanks, mac

£10 per metre for a subby does it have to be OCR will they change it to traditional 2 coat or are they looking for machine peops

direct building in bradford are best priced in the yorkshire region ive found
i wouldnt be tackling it myself if i didnt have a thorough grasp of what i was doing sub the external out and make on the inside.
