Thanks for the replies. i have read through the forum on similar posts and it seems the 6 week course thing kick up a fuss. im really looking for a job as a mate/labourer to get me into the trade but the state of the economic market i doubt these sort of jobs are about.

of course they are have you got a cscs card public liability a utr number boots hard ha and viz jacket?

apart from the boots and the high vis im working on the rest. at the moment im located in east london and im traveling 20 miles to work, so travel isn't a problem.

Get the rest and ring around leave the utr number till last or till you know you've got a start good luck just ring everyone

thanks for the help, silly question but any good links to sites for public liability and cscs wise what card am i looking at? labourer.

Direct line for public liability might be worth holding off till you're asked for it as not everyone needs it, you want the temporary cscs card you can speak to you're local cscs office you then have to enrol to do you're nvq asap as I think when you're temporary card runs out you can't renew it you have to do the full route and prove you can plaster .....I think

I'd have said london would be one of the hardest places to get a start. According to lucius there are 1 or 2 albanians and polish getting most of the work

there are many ways of becoming a plasterer i would suggest you consider starting as a plasterers labourer and build up your skills i personally like my labourers to spread, once your becoming profficient consider doing train 2 gain its free and goverment funded method of achieving firstly your level 2 NVQ without having to loose out on days at college be aware though there are two different NVQ level 2's basic route and full route Im sure you can work out which is the better of the two I'm confident there will be plenty private training providers in london willing to put you through this.
Hope this helps and good luck:RpS_biggrin:
