m2 Price ?

Morning all

Ive just been asked what price do I charge per m2, now Ive never done site work and have always priced up either day rate or per job. Can anyone tell me the going rate for skimming. I know they'll be a difference around the country Im just after a ball park figure.

Same as RB measured through openinings, £6 on ceilings 2.4 story height

no problem Andy and when I get the work ill sub it to you at £2.75 mate

To me its not worth the hasstle for less, the hours spent in meetings, organising gear, loading the gear out, removal of waste and waiting 30-90 days for the money.... im no mug

I must be pricing for the wrong builders Richard because I know for a fact I wouldn't get those rates, of course I'm not knocking you if you get those rates bloody good luck to you, I wish I could.

I dont understand why anybody would want the hasstle for less..... if you pricing just for yourself fine but when you have to get a few gangs in the hasstle factor is huge

Im with andy i dont get those rates for skim it would be nice and i would travel quite far for those rates what do you get on float and set rich?

i was told never charge less than 10 perm supply ...........rich i understand youre labour rate but i thought supply rate for skimming was 50P for plaster 30p for beads etc plus 10% .......good for you though mate

it probably is but as I have said when you have to unload and load out the site etc etc it costs more. today 4 of us unloaded 8 pallets of material and carried it into the building, so that 4 days wages I have to cover straight away, then the hours after work in the office sorting invoices etc etc

i just priced a ceiling 2895 mm high 53 m2 with about 30 llarge spo lights in it and fire alarms emergency lights and spriklers +speakers and and large blow heater/aircon unit that can t be removed at £500 with materials and have to be in and out in one day (this sunday)
works out to be approx £10.00 m2.Will be hard work especialyy at that height but great money for 1 days work.
I usually price by the day as i dont do site work but peeps i know get £3 m2 lids or walls skimming and £7 m2 float set

Yes theres no power in the place so air con unit wont be a problem,the sparkys rigging me up 1 socket so i can run tranny from that for site lights mixer etc.Just dropped my kit and met the hire people with the scaffolding rig and got a parking ticket for £70 so not as lucritave as it could have been.
