Making good

Alright folks,

Would welcome a best course of action on the following - some guy I've just been to quote for has chased a channel all around the room on top of his skirting boards (installing the mother of all cinema systems) and wants me to make good his 'handy' work - Piece of p*ss I hear you cry, only prob is he has sunk the cables in plastic conduit and filled the channels with the conduit - When I say filled, in some places the conduit actually stands proud by about 3-4mm so I'm not going to worry too much there, but at most he has left 1 maybe 2mm below flush in other areas to fill - Was thinking of just mixing up some Easyfill and working my magic but would it stick to the plastic conduit - Should i PVA the conduit first ?? Any ideas guys...

just out of interest pristine plastering , what were you charging for the job?

i've had this before mate, go with what you think, pva an easifill will do it, feather it out over the proud conduits, if the customer ain't happy blame whoever did the chases.  ;)

Im thinkin the easifil route my self mate but its a lot of work for little money, you have to sand next day its a night mare to trowel up ,ive tried( but it can be done,) why not pva the conduit then bed scrim over the plastic and easifil feather out where its a bit thicker,
i suppose you could do it in finish, to bulk it out then fine fill over it to get it flat, but like i said lot of work for no money, let us know how you get on mate.

cant help thinking it would have been easier to take the skirting off ;)
other than that... 1 bag of easy fill bout 18 quid... bag of multi 4 quid... i know what i'd do...

not only that you have to sand easifill down wait ages for it to set b4 u can sand it down, i would use bonding and finish you would be done in half the time than if you go down the easifill road, mix 50/50 bonding and finish first coat then finish second coat you will be finished in under three hours easy.

thing is, i've had problems in the past with finish cracking over conduits if its to thin. also if the conduit is already proud, put a coat of bonding and finish over it and it'll be hanging out further than the skirting!

and easifill wouldnt, surely it would be to the same depth?????

easifill can be sanded down to nothing, multifinish flakes off if its too thin.this is just in my experience mind. ;)
