Hi, just after some advice on my new trowel.
Been plastering about 6 months and my cheap ebay trowel was buckled so decided to invest in a marshalltown duraflex gold.
The trowel was quite straight when i bought it apart from the bevelled edges. After doin a few sets its like a canoe. Is this just the trowel wearing in or has it not kept its shape as it guaranteed??

i have a nela for sale :RpS_thumbsup: this is your lucky day

Did I just read that right you have nela for sale thats like selling your granny!its a crime against plastering im shocked how dare you ! There the best trowel by miles I want a public apology nela rule !

you not like the nela church ?

Got to honest mate , no i dont , mine is bent the wrong way slightly , ive tried doing some oil stone work on it and i might try to keep on working it in (to save 40 notes going down the drain ) but its digging in , and my old mt is doing a better job , early days at the mo , and i know you just cant use it out the box .

It is a nicely built trowel , feels ok , but its not doing the business at the mo .

Would you recommend a Sflex or standard Cassie? Im quite happy with smoothing out with the MT but wanting something better for laying on

Get a s*p*r*lex (upto you which brand) .... mastered my refina and tbh the ease you can finish walls is laughable

Marshalltown is still the best trowel for all round plastering, the s*p*r*lex is down to personal choice, if you never used one before try the nela, one stop shop are great to deal with.

I was home over 45 minutes ago after 2 good sets. Thanks to my nela s*p*r*lex. I have not broke the 18 inch bad boy out of the box yet so i dread to think what time i will get home then. Thanks to Nela and Ryan i have started on the beers at this time of the day as i am bored.I knew I should have gone priced some jobs up instead hiccup :RpS_laugh:
