Priced a job today and the walls had a very shiny/glossy silver paint, weird stuff!! What's the best way of preparing this as i can't see PVA working on it. Any ideas?

Thistle bond-it, wickes wba or knauf betakontact

Cheers bod. I'll try and get to a wickes but they are few and far between in scotland. Can you apply and plaster in the same day?

Its recomended that its applyed 24 hours before.

Cheers bod. Never used any of those before, must check out B&Q and see if they have thistle bond-it.

Don't think b&q do thistle bond it mate.
Wickes bonding agent you can plaster on it 2hrs later.
The paint you mention sounds like a dulux special effects paint & usually they have a glaze on top.
So I'd definetly go for a bonding agent.
