mix for concrete

Subbing out a small job next week. Its rip up concrete part footpath and redo it. Phoned in measurements and its 1 cubic meter of concrete but they are looking 145euro for it. Robbing bastards and its only about 4mins away from quarry straight road! Going to get the lad to mix it up himself but thinking about the mix. Would'nt 10 bags cement do(250kg) and 3/4ton stone/sand mix from quarry do the job or would 10 bags be abit to much for this.

145euro plus labour cost or 50 cement,20 sand/stone mix plus labor. Its a no brainer.

Should have phoned the QS to look after this one for me but seeing as its a big job, wouldnt want to bother him with it

Get a tonne bag of all in ballast and 10 bags of cement and mix it 6 to 1 ballast to cement and you should be good.

I'd just order it in on a mix mate, no brainier in and out in a half a day with prep and you only barrowing for half hour if that if you got 2 on the go.

Was just going to pull up in trailer, ton dropped into it and grab cement on way. I usually get the concrete delivered but might aswell make another 70 ontop of my profit. Small money but itll do the diesel for the week

& the time to mix
Get it delivered in it's not worth mixing yourself..

10bags = 250kg and 1 ton mix. Is this not 1 cubic meter? Sure 1 ton of sand is a cubic meter is it not?

Sorry I did mean 2 t. And 10 bags of cement would give a cube strength of 21mpa
