Hi Everyone

I hoping for some good guidance here (Thanks in Advance) ;)

Here is the issue, it is a refurbishment of a 1905 2 story mid Terraced House, stone faced, brick inner skin, cavity walls (in a fashion), Lime cement, Lime plaster which is blown all over the place due to poor fabric of the building (Now all repointed, re-roofed, windows sealed e rainwater goods repaired, ground floor levels to be lowered.

We have had to remove all Lime plaster lathe ceilings, all blown Lime plaster (Back to Brick) off a third of the walls (predominantly external facing) and removed all lime plaster on ground floor after chemical DPC inserted.

We now have to replaster and re skim existing walls, reboard ceilings and some stoothing walls, we intend to:-

1. Replace all plaster on all exposed brick walls (External facing) with Lime plaster
2. Render existing ground floor walls after DPC
3. Reboard ceilings and skim
4. Reboard stoothings and skim
5. Reskim existing Lime Plaster Walls as they need repairs

We thought for:-

1 and 2. Izonil and Tarmac High Impact Finish
3 and 4. 12.5mm Foil Backed Plasterboard and gypsum
5. No Idea

Thanks in advance

Any thoughts

I take it you mean studding rather than stoothing?
No need for foilback on the studs or ceilings appart from the top floor but a waste of money coz they are more expensive than normal boards.

plus the duplex boards are for vapour control no good on studs like you say

If the lime finish is sound and unpainted wet the wall down fill out any digs or abrations with lime putty silver sand mix then re-skim with the same mix.make sure you keep the wall damp.

If the wall is painted use DG27 bonding primer and re-skim as above.
