You will not go far wrong with megamixers Oasis the the drill at the top looks fine for general plastering work and will last years looked after, but one thing you have to think of is if you ever intend to mix up other plastering / rendering mats its worth looking for a bigger motar around 1400 /1800watt with a slower speed or two speeds .

do you think that one will not be able to mix a tub of render up for small jobs? thanks.. and church what mixer to u recomend? as i only want to buy once!

1800w mega mixer oasis £400 but u get £100 worth of refina tools of your choice free will mix 3/4 bags of hardwall easy get it serviced every couple of years an it will last longer than most other drills out there they have an Eibenstock motor so not sure if u can get a mixer direct from eibenstock that will be cheaper

wow £400 big boys, most of my work is multi finish but i hope to get on to the hardwall and render later on so maybe i should invest, humm the first one on that page how many bags of multi and hardwall do you think that would mix?

we use the megamix and you can mix a bath with 4 bags of hardwall no problem. they can also mix ocr and krend as well

it will cope with 2 bags no problem oasis and if your never gonna be mixing more than that then it will be fine but if you think your ever gonna be mixing more or mixing mono then go for the 1800w

Its not that i think the smaller one wont do the job, but day in day and day out the bigger mortar is better i cant spend your money for you mate but i would go for the more powerfull drill which will mix k rend all day. The smaller drill will mix two bags of finish easy which is enough for any super hero .

get a pft flex mixer ...there the daddy of drills and last a lifetime , i knock up 7 bags of render at a time with mine (well i used to til i got a machine)

So are these pft drills better than eibenstock ? any reasons for that ? they are obviously a quality machine so is there any inside info you might care to share ?

Ive got a Pft, mutts danglies to be honest, use it for render or float eats bags for fun. Pricey though Nearly £500
for drill,&whisk inc Vat & delivery.

church, thats the one, we used monkeys to knock up a load of prerend and was well impressed. there was one on ebay for sale the other day

I surpose what im trying to get at is are they all made in the same place and they just have different stickers on them or is there a little bit more to it ? I know you guys deal in pft , so just like to know what makes them better ?

thats the first time i used one and the build quality was really good but i have the megamix myself which i have had for years. i think if your spending 3.50 500 on a mixer your going to get something good, its people by a 150 mixer from screwfix or ebay and expect it to the job, which it will for about a week. I tell people its like buying a cordless drill, if your not going to use it day in day out then go for a cheaper screwfix one, if your using it everyday then spend good money. The only thing i would always go for a soft trigger.

ok so maybe i should look 2 spend at least £400 here iv got a makita one from screw fix about 3-4 years old was £190-£220? just dont seem to have the guts to do more than 1.5 bags!

while I'm on refina wot are the red skimming spatula's? can u use them on multi?

i got a 110v makita ,dont know the full details but its a great mixer.has adjustable speed so ideal for large and small mixes also good for mixing paint and tile adhesive with different paddle fitted.
would recommend to anyone cost around £250

there just strong drills there made by pft, i've been using them for over 10 years , the 1800w i think has the variable speed on it , a new whisk for them is about 17 quid as well so pretty cheap i think, there about 460 brand new

rite so that 20% form both of you already? 40% I'm sold were and wen lads?

also if i bring my Nan on a Wednesday i get another 15% off and i have a nectar card full off points ;-)

When you say "guts to do more than 1.5 bags" do you mean render, hardwall or multi-finish? I never mix more than 1 bag of finish at a time, in fact most of the time I mix less than a bag at a time, I like my multi to be fresh and not going stiff before I can use it. How much do you guys on here mix at a time (multi-finish)?

i know a few lads who take it out of a large bucket (pikeys ;D) and theyll mix 1 1/2 2 bags .........i mix in a skimming bucket one at a time ....same as you really mate ill wash out before second coating

well when you have more than 1 spread i like to have mixes goin on all the time! i try to mix more than on when im on my own cuz i takes ages mixing and cleaning on ya own, but i see wot ya meen by mix a bag lay it on get it flat top it off, mix another lay it on drop back polish first set then flaten off second then top off ect.. were abouts is the PTF place Mr spunk?

i no wot ur sayin £100 worth or tools i could by a new gadget for the back end of the van
