Does anyone have a touch screen mobile phone that they use for work?

I'm thinking of upgrading my knackered old Nokia for a fancy new touch screen phone, but am concerned that the dust and general abuse of using a phone through the working day might kill it very quickly!

Anyone got any experience of using one for work?

Hello,

I have a HTC HD2 its perfect... but I am pretty much a pen pusher now... so that doesnot help much!

However my uncle has an iphone and recons that they are bullet proof as the screen is made of something special that makes it tough to scratch..

Personally I think that I would have insurance for such a case...lol

When I was on teh tools I use to use a JCB toughphone... awesome phone but that was pretty much all it was.

Yeah a mate of mine who is a mechanic has got an iphone and it's still in perfect condition with no scratches, so the screens must be pretty tough.

I'm just a bit wary of subjecting a high-tech phone to the punishing environment that is my pocket! I wear the Snickers workpants with the flappy pockets, and they're normally full of dust and grit by the end of the day, and my current phone looks like its been sandblasted!!

I had a samsung S800 and its f*ckin shight.

And I cant link it to my pc, oh and they are a nightmare to use on a sunny day

I have an i phone that i keep protected in a zip up pouch, the phone is 8 months old and is still like new

i have a slick blackberry , i have insurance whtch i pay £13 a month with £60 exsess.. but when ever i feel its not working right (every4-5months due to dust!) i walk in store and they give me a brand new one.. so sored

Same as Danny HTC HD2 with a gel case ahd it six months now still good, also it syncs with my pc and windows etc so i get all my e-mails forwarded, all my appointments from outlook calender and alarms, and photos upload to Microsoft my phone every evening ,then i just transfer em to photobucket and picasa, bloody great plus i can see what's being said on here about me ::) ;D ;D

same as nelly and monk, 2 yr contract as well :( had an omnia before this bag of siht, brilliant phone. gonna go for a hd2 next time.

Snap!! I have the Blackberry bold too. I've also got the rubber cover and a stick on screen protector. Can't fault it. Prefer buttons/keyboard to touchscreen.
