Usually strip old walls Victorian etc back to lathe or brick then respect sometimes take the chance on the brick walls patch in then skim on some jobs maybe hair line might appear after some time always go through the long preparing stages taping cracks bonding in etc just thought if anyone had experimented as lime may strengthen finnish

Yes have you tried it

No, because hydrated lime is often added to render :-)

When you refer to "strength" I believe that you actually mean "flexibility" instead. You might like to try hydraulic lime instead because it might make it more "flexible". However, you may find that those cracks will open up in the Summer and close again in the Winter due to the soft nature of hydraulic lime.

have you ever cleaned yur finishing bucket out and empty it over grass.or up the back of some budys garden.the lime in the finish will burn the grass.
