alright chaps rendering this little annex i rent of my mum and dad.

its a right pig of a job over a hundred years old so nothings level and no dpc.

I have injected the mortar with this damp proof stuff. my first question is does this stuff actually work.
and will it protect my render from rising damp?

also at the top of the gable the roof tiles sit flush with the brickwork with no overhang just a small fillet of cement with no fascia board. what can i do to stop water getting behind my render?

do i have to extend the ridge and somehow put an extra half a tile on?

i dont think stop bead and a bit of silicone will do any bit of good

this is a tricky one any help much appreciated

You have to be carefull here mate its just asking for water to piss down the wall extending to ridge maybe with some lead work is the only way forward

read your pot a few times

regarding injection what is the property built from ?

is it the verge you need to extend --to give better overhang----

Ime doing simmilar job next week the only proper way is to extend the verge but you may have to take a few rows of to extend the battens.

That injection cream does work well if the joints are full of solid cement not crumbling stuff, your roof verge should have an overhang and cloakers if it is slate but if there isn't i'd suggest you get a dry verge system for slates like this https://www.glidevale.com/slate_dry_verge.html

If it's tiles.... Link Removed

or clay tile...https://www.marleyeternit.co.uk/Roofing/DryFix-Systems/Plain-Tile-Cloak-Verge.aspx

U might not be able to fit these with no overhang at all but it's worth a try, only other option is to strip the roof and relay properly!!
