For the third time this year I've had a bad batch of Multi Finish.
Each time within 25 minutes it's going off in the bucket.
It's costing me time money and reputation.
These times are hard enough without BG adding to it!
This morning I threw on 25 m2 on a ceiling and a wall, the ceiling may be just about ok but I've had to lose the wall.
For too many years BG has had a monopoly,I wish Knauf was available near me!
It's gonna take me at least a couple of hours to remove, return and replace (from elsewhere) the materials, let alone the time it'll take to put the work right.
This year I've faced low prices, bad payers, companies going under owing me and not enough work, not being able to rely on materials feels like the last nail in the coffin but I can't see a way of escaping this s**t.

You called Quinn........... LOL

ADS - PM me your details.... or add your company name and your name on here.... and I will get a local contact to get in touch and sort you with local Knauf suppliers! (do you have distributor or builders merchant accts?)

My contact details are on my profile - if you want - but I don't look after plaster or sell standard drywall products......

Cheers

I'll definitely contact you guys, not because I believe Knauf is better ( not that I've used it since the 90s but found it ok) just that if BG have more competition they might up their game, though thinking about it they've been out done on all their taping and jointing materials for years and have made no improvements to those.
Last time I was told to bring back a sample to send for analysis,it will be interesting to hear why.

ADS - I am in Wrexham on Monday afternoon and then up into Deeside on Tuesday am with one of our sales guys.... can arrange to contact or maybe meet up if you like!

just ring bg ,thay will send out a rep ,take a sample of the plaster and do a lab test on it and if it comes back falty thay will pay for any work needed to be recterfied:RpS_thumbsup:

Do they pay for labour too? I was always told they only payed for materials so haven't bothered.

So is quinn a Knauf Plaster Guy? I wish both BG and Knauf had a representative from the plaster divisions active on the forums. Its good having runwithscissors on here even if its only forrendering side of things

Yes - Quinns is the Knauf (Spray) Plasters guy!
He is the guy you want to talk to Currier........ contact on his profile.....
don't think he will be on as much as me though.......LOL

I am Knauf Drywall - Render Board..... not Knauf Marmorit.... but have all the contacts .......

I agree with beddy on the op statement, going off in 25mins in the bucket.i work out of the bucket and off a board when either is suitable, but it's gonna be at least a stiffy to put on no matter how wet you mix it after 25mins.

It was totally unworkable in 25 mins,I mentioned it was in the bucket to avoid any confusion about suction causing it to go off,I think beddy was taking the piss.

I wasn't takin the piss. I wouldn't expect to be able to use anything after its sat in a bucket for 25mins

It hadn't sat in the bucket for 25 minutes,I used it straight away but it set not just stiffened on a unibonded ceiling and a plasterboarded wall as well as in the bucket in 25 minutes ,rather than explain all that in the first place I thought it easier to mention the bucket and hope people could read between the lines but obviously not.

Edit: didn't mean this to sound this stroppy, just pissed off at the moment...

proberly because you wrote its goin off in the bucket after 25 mins thus indicateing you still dnt have it all on after 25 mins, beddys right you cnt expect to use it after 25 mins sat in a bucket, the set on the walls and ceilin will seem like its goin off quicker because its takeing longer to spread the donald you still have in the bucket which you are still useing

Had it only had one coat? If its had 1 coat and no flattening for 25mins then yes I would expect it to be setting.

You're probably right, maybe I just don't have a clue at what point the set would normally take place.
