is mpfinish ok for reskims and over artex etc? or just board? and would u 2 coat it if putting on by hand?

i got a small atrex lid tommorrow morning and only have mp in the van

If you can use it over expanded plastics and s/c and undercoats i cant see why you cant put it on artex or reskims with the suction controlled of course.
Wouldnt it be cheaper and just as easy to get a bag of multi finnish on ur way through though?
never sprayed plaster so im guessing you could use it mate.

there isnt a builders merchant on route and cant be arsed to find 1 and no it aint much more expensive

u rekon itll take a 2nd coat ok over the artex? coz of how long it takes to go off?

Im no expert on this mate, but as far as im aware you can get thin coat stuff and even put BG multi finnish in certain machines nowdays also ,flynny or monjoetman could tell you more on this im sure.

All went well then nick412 ??? how long did it take before you were troweling it up? does it handle the same as multi finnish ?also is is same colour or white /cream coloured?

its a creamy white colour. goes on nice, trowels flat nice, just need to get used to how and when to trowel it. bit difffernt to multi. more forgiving if it starts to go off too much, bit of water and comes back to life.

Hello Mate
Doing a house for a mate who's out the country until late March, anyway been wanting to give MP finish ago for awhile so thought this would be good time to get use to it, used about 10 bags so far and the more I use it the more I like it; it takes ages to go off and looks really good when its dry as it dries an off white. It needs two coats thou i.e. 1st coat leave until firmed up; trowel then 2nd coat and carry on as normal except with longer gaps, like was said before water brings it back to life, once its fully dry it looks and feels perfect, I would play about with it first thou as it takes awhile to get use too, well it did me anyway

Johnathon because it goes off slower do you put bigger hits on, perhaps only doing two bigger hits a day? Also have you used it over sand & cement?

I remember wen I first started plastering, I was workin on the sites at the time and asked me old boss if I cud take a bag of skim to do a ceiling. Anyway got to the job, sheeted out, pva'd away to go. Five hours later and I was still trowelling up, wot a ball ache that was. I'd never even heard of mp75 before so took it that it was just normal skim but a different brand to bg.

in the last coupe of days iv used it over bonding, artex and board. the finish is really good, although iv found that every hit iv done has had a little bit that has gone a bit bubbly. i think iv been getting on it a bit too early. i know ur meant to leave it a bit longer than multi, but i get impatient. im getting used to it, but its a bit different to normal

nick, just give it a hard trowel.

Heafy, it took 5 hours because you started to play with it way to early, with MP75, if you play with it, then it will take a lot longer to set

it went bubbly where id filled out. do u find it goes off much slower over the whole set? i thought it was hung around a bit to start but then went bout as quick as multi. just that if it starts going dark it can still be troweld up

This stuff wouldn't work on re-skims, and over pva i take it?

Just plasterboard, and s&c?

Wouldn't mind trying it, where do you get it from though?

it has a higher plaster content than multi which is full of clay so once you get it under can be hard trowelled like mp75
