multiple wall construction

evening spreads.
went to price up a biggish job yesterday. it is an old cottage and they have hacked off all the old plaster back to bare walls.
one wall alone is part red brick part engineering brick part random limestone. The customer is not too concerned about it being plum or straight but it needs to be something like for skirters etc. they also dont want any salt deposits tracking back through as can happen on old properties. any suggestions?

In an old cottage?could you use a salt inhibitor or combined product like sika to tank it with s&c?havent got much history with lime meself.

Strap the walls and board them would be the cheapest and quickest way but, depends on the look they are after and if they are not concerned with cost then lime is the way to go.
