Hi guys my bathroom (rented property) is ruddy damp landlords
a prat got no chance of him fixing it. And with me doing plastering at
college on Sundays want to have a go myself so got a few questions for
ya. Could I strip just the top half and leave the tiles intact if they are
not affected, would I be best to plasterboard then skim or use browning and skim
or maybe hardwall it's the ceiling also affected any advice appreciated for a newbie
needing practice cheers guys.

pointless plastering untill you find the cause of the damp.

Funny that i have a rental property that is damp in the bathroom caused by the muppet tenant who takes hour long showers puts all his clothes to dry in the bathroom and never opens the window. And i do have a vent fitted.

Incidentally, bad landlord or not your tenancy agreement wont allow for you to go doing renovation work in his/her house without his/her permission. Put your issues in writing to him and get him to sort it at his expense.

Hi guys believe the problem is through no fan the problem was here when
i moved in so the fan would hopefully sort it thanx windy I will put it In
writing hopefully get it sorted Im not after a fix just a better option for when
the problem is remedied. I know the plastering is not a fix.

Wow I just reread my first post and can see it looks like I'm after
a fix I'm not lol sorry for the confusion. I'm obviously not very literate.

No offence taken matey

As a landlord it pisses me off to see tenants hoodwinked by crap landlords. If the prob was there before you moved in i was just trying to get you to save your money as it is her/his resposibility to fix it.

Good luck and save your cash. :-*
