just been to look at a job for a friend of mine
dreaded stairs and landing lol and to me the walls look bone dry
was just wondering could i use sbr instead of pva on the walls to help control the suction , its something iv never tried before and just wondered if it would work ?
:RpS_unsure:

if you pva the day before and then before you start it will stop the suction kemp

i was going to do that anyway matey lol just wondered if sbr was anygood at doing the job to only ever used it on rendering jobs etc

Like gibbo says sbr is a waste of time with reskims as all it will do is give you a shiny surface and the skim wont adhere, the thing with pva is if you lay it on when dry it will reactivate it back to a tacky state, try it on a wall let it dry and wet it and see.

cheers chaps just thought id ask id order some gypprime but f me it expensive stuff aint it lol ill go night before for an hour and pva it etc .
not be for a another week or 2 yet cos up to my neck at mo lol ever1 always wants it done stright away dont they lol

plasprime ? never used it not heard of it to be honest mate is it anygood etc and where u get it from ?

Click on the links and then decide which one is for you.....ignore the prices you may see on each link, that's down to your negotiating skills with the thievin...................err with your local Builders Merchants:RpS_thumbup:

just googled it lol 36+vat direct from manufacture
looks good stuff can u water it down etc
and what links? bubbles me old chap lol :RpS_biggrin:

lol i just have done matey lol seems good stuff whats it like etc does it control the suction well etc?

LOL.....that's where experience will come to the surface mate, pardon the pun like, but if it's a lime based background you might need a stabiliser first................................................goodnight:RpS_wink:

Get a decent pva, preferably unibond, give it a good thick coat the day before. No need for a second coat if the first coat is a goodun

I'm with spunky on this fuxking nick what ya can!!

when you spread to glue see how long it takes the wall to suck it in that gives you ya a sorta indication .

Andy I'm not sure how in tune with site work you are but after getting messed about a bit you tend to not give a s**t about the odd bag of plaster the **** with a big fat BMW has donated you
