Hello... 1st thread so bare with me. Really just looking for some advice! So i got a bedroom replasteres yesterday and it looks fab, but there is a walk in cupboard and it stinks like a hamster cage thats not been cleaned out for weeks. The radiator is still off the wall, getting it put back on tonight. I left the windows open all night and still open just now. Its just this one area that stinks. When the window is open and you walk into the room, you cant smell it at first, but as soon as you turn towards the cupboard (which haven't got the doors on yet) you can smell it. I could actually smell it once i came back into the house after being out for 5 hours. That was from the bottom of the stair. Any ideas why this one part of the wall is causing such a stink? ? Thanks

We done bit on evertons training ground an one of fixers had shot in bag an put it in the wall in David moyes office.

it could be a few things, haley. first thing that springs to mind is perhaps if the walls were stripped it might be the pva reacting with the old paste. sometimes it was made from flour and water and can give off quite a smell. or it could be poltergeist activity. its common for nasty smells to suddenly materialise during an outbreak. and in one particular area. its usually centred around a young teenager. maybe a dead mouse beneath the floorboards. especially if its a cupboard that you dont often use. it could have been there for years and youve only just noticed.

If there's a stink and a teenager I suspect the cause will be a little more prosaic than poltergeist activity.
