What do you think is a fair price for this,

A new build all float and set and skim ceilings labour only with a decent labourer supplied on the job

Float and set walls - 255 sqm
Skim ceilings - 125

Appreciate your comments, cheers :)

youll make good money on 8.30 for the h/set and 4.70 on the ceilings ...............

Thats labour only mind nicksey and a labourer thrown in :o Are these your normal rates mate no wonder you dont want to leave your firm mate ;D At the moment i'd go quite competitive £6.50 r/s £3.50 s/b and ceilings.

I agree Bod yours is a fair price but myself and about another 20other squads up our way out there looking for work could do it cheaper £5.50 and £ 3.00, I have plenty on at the momment but if i wanted it for a one off i would do it at these prices legit very easily

It wasnt that long ago that i was on £4.75m2 r/s £2.75 skim alot of spreads i have been speaking to are still getting 7 r/s and 3.75 skim even on big comercial sites.

where in the country are u from Bod to be hounest not trying to put anyone down here but you seem to be one of the few thats in touch with the real world

the going rate now in the north east is £5 float/set and £2.50 skim, the best price I have heard of in the North was £3 per m skim only, but it was crap work massive high walls needing scaffold and massive window walls, factory unit work and office space with loads of beeding up you know the kinda thing i am on about

when I was looking for work i had friends in the London area down there they had looked all over for work and said the prices where not much better down there than they are in the North this was 6 months ago,

I phoned up loads of plastering firms not agencies, got a couple said they would take me and my m8 on a housing site paying £3.25 and £3.50skim

and 1 dayworks job at £130 per day and that was only after a 1 week trial the reason he gave was he said he had set that many so called plasterers on and 4 out 5 squads he tried where no good he said they where far to slow

Im in bristol tom but most of the spreads i know travel all over i turned up on a new job today and went in blind was just asked for a m2 rate all skim on board so went in at 3.50 when we got there, their was another gang of spreads there wanting to start inside as the site foreman told them they had the inside, as well as having all the k-rend on the outside, luckily i knew the other gang pretty well and we came to an agreement that when the weather was bad they could jump inside on a flat but he asked me what my price was when i told him he said that he had put in 3.75 and was told that he has had 5 gangs all price it 3.50 so luckily we had it bang on the nail.

ok Bod so that must be the general price around the Bristol area for site work so thats

North East Area skim only £2.50/3.00

Bristol Area skim only £3.50/3.75

North West Area skim only £2.50/3.00

would be good if other people that work the sites could put the AVERAGE prices down from your area

Its also worth thinking is there a chance of get more work from it ? if it is i one off new or if there is a chance from getting more work from the builder are they getting loads of quotes and do they want a cheap job or a good job, its not easy to price at the momment as im sure everyones aware, we lost 5 houses resently to a guy who did not measure the propertys and just knocked off £500 per plot and said he would beat anything else we knocked off.So it looks like things are starting to get a bit tasty allready.

Our prices are pretty much the same £5 for float and skim, £2.50 for board work, £3 on window walls measured through, I work around The North West, I make it pay on Sub contract jobs,

Dave Parkinson u say your on a job in Salisbury on £4.50 per meter skim only but is this a one off job or is this the average price in the Salisbury area for site work? reply m8 and I will add this to my post on different area prices

but guys we all know plasterers are buggers for exagerating lets keep this pretty straight and see if we can soon have a profile of the Uk average skimming prices for different areas

Thanks for your reply's, it's good to see what the prices are around the country.

I went in at £2200 and the guy seems happy with that :)

so you would go direct to a customer at £2.50-£3.00?

got offerd £2.50 down in brighton in the summer, loads of meterage so could earn the cash. I dont think your be earning much more than that down here tbh. Even London as there are so many spreads about they dont need to raise the meter rate.

What prices were you getting 10 years ago???

ive been plastering 6 years mate and when i started skimming was 2.50 and h/wall set was 3.75 ..............from waht ive heard previous skimming was still 2.50

£7.25 for hardwall and set in surrey, kier's site, don't know skim prices, i was screeding at the time.
