Hi all,

Am not a plasterer but like to know/learn about all aspects of building and plastering seems to be a dark art. Currently getting quotes for whole house. Inside s&c skim and outside wetdash 8-10mm lime/white cement. Have had several guys price and they all have a different approach to mixes/application e.g one day cure from scratch to receiver coat(few guys said this), allowing receiver coat to cure before dashing, using grey cement for patent reveals due to white cement cracking. We will be buying the dash mix in one ton bags which to the best of my knowledge does not contain sand only lime/white cement and stone.

Can anyone please advise mix ratios/ best methods(hoping to avoid crazing lots of houses locally seem to have this issue)/tips. The build is a mix of self build and direct labour. We just want it to be right so be very grateful for any advise you can provide, thanks in advance.
