Yesterday I bought a new drill, a Collomix C40, paid £245 +vat. Just thought I'd put this on so you can tell me what a big mistake I've made.

I looked at a lot drills the last time i bought one mate and tbh i couldnt make heads or tails of them , just went for German in the end but who knows for sure apart from les

Hi Andy, I also bought a Collomix CX40 last year! Did you get it from Milcot Tools in Chelmsford? I was going to get the cheaper CX10 but the bloke in Milcot told me that some plasterers find it a bit underpowered and buy the bigger paddles designed for the CX40 or CX60 and end up straining the motor! Apparently the CX40 is also good for mixing up screed or small batches of sand/cement render which the CX10 can't do. The CX40's got the negative paddle which apparently mixes the plaster more consistently than the positive paddles. Being a non-professional plasterer I reckon it'll last the rest of my life ;D Love the funky blue colour too!

i have wrists of a ladu so those ptf no good for me.....had a collomix cx10 ...lasted 3 years of hammering....good value for money....but found paddle too small ......get a big whisk end for it i say :o)

Yeah Millcot tools Phil, always a decent price and good service, they're moving to Danbury after Christmas which is where I live so I'll end up spending even more on tools I don't really need :-[

Those pft mixers sure look the bizzo ,but being a little cynical i would like to know if all the mechanical bits and peaces are the same as whats used in other German made mixers ????? does anyone know ?
