Do what gives you the best finish mate ,some do and some don,t ,best of luck ,and welcome along

Welcome. Your not supposed to sponge multi as it separate chemicals in the skim. If u rub your hand on a finished wall that was sponged u will see dust on your hand. If its knauf mp finish its no problem to sponge it.

Still new to it meself mate welcome along. Not sure what the sponges are all about like, never come across that or heard of people doing it. I can imagine as the fella above said its going to drag the particulate out bit like over trowelling does maybe? But bottom line is I couldn't be arsed anyway, I'm watching others close in and trowel up for an awesome finish only using water where necessary why cause yourself more work when you don't have to. Plaster finishes itself properly if you work it properly.

Mind you isn't there a thing doing the rounds now for a plastic trowel set on a sponge then on a handle? Sure I read something about it somewhere, made me think of a s*p*r*lex but odder.

The refina plazzi trowels have the option of a foam back but not very good in my opinion, hard to apply pressure

I have a plaziflex trowel with sponge back and a s*p*r*lex. The plaziflex Leaves a nice finish as long as you don't get a chip in it then your forever trying to get them out. my opinion get a s*p*r*lex
