Hi all after some advice did plastering when i left school but changed career at 19 . Now due to circumstances getting back into plastering I kept my hand in doing jobs for friends and family but nothing big . I've just bin asked to price up a new build 4 bedroom house but never done any pricing it was all done buy the gaffer . Here's what I need to know it's gonna be labour only as builder supplying all gearing gonna be board and skim. should it be done on m2 basis or on a price . Cheers in advance for any help

Work out how many days it will take you room by room then times that by what you want to earn a day .

Welcome :D

Always add in a day or two on how many days you think it will take, something always takes longer than you first though and before you know it your chasing your arse trying to catch the time up

Just bear in mind realistically your prob nowhere near the speed of those who have been doing it as there job so you'll need to be competitive if you want to win it.
If it's takes you day and a half to do a room someone will do it in a day so take that into account.
It's a builder so most likely you'll be based on price not quality.
If your getting back into it full time it's a good chance to see where your skill is at so personally I'd price a bit cheaper to get the job and experience again.

Problem with worrying about being competitive is that there is always someone cheaper.

Very true and I agree but when your starting out though that mentality won't get you going will it.
It's ok when you've built your rep but things are earnt not given and pricing high without experience or contacts isn't the best business method to have is it?

Cheers lads for the advice will take it onboard and it's appreciated. I understand Im not gonna be as quick as you lads that do it all day every day but it's not always the hare that wins the race I just want to do a decent job for a decent price . Like pug said I won't win all the work all the time but till I have a go I won't know cheers again lads

"Small profit = quick return.". Not a bad saying to keep in mind.
When a rep has been built, you can charge accordingly. Whoever you are working for loves a bargain/discount/value for money.
Good luck.
