Hi guys just signed up tonight, im marc from leeds and im 23.

been in dead end jobs since school going no where and for the past 4 years been in a warehouse going insane, i want a career.

Ive been wanting to plaster for quite some time thought long and hard and its what i want to do.

Now i was going to do one of the weeks courses to learn me the basics, after that im going to put a stud wall in my garage to practice on , also i will do free plastering for friends and family to get more expireience while making a portfolio of my work.

i will do this around my full time warehouse jobs as i need my bills paying :)Then see about getting a full time job in plastering.

Does this seem like a good route to go or has anyone got any tips/advice for me ?

Thanks
Marc

Hello Marc welcome to the forum mate!

You wont learn much in a week mate... if you are going to go down that route then I suggest at least teh 10 day .....

This still wont make you a spread and it will take a long time to get good you wont be earning a grand when you finish the course!

However, I do recommend jumping on with someone when you finish even if its for £20 a day just at weekends or one day a week nothing beats experience.

The course will give you teh basics and teh understanding of what goes where and the theory but the practice of being clean a efficient takes time trust me.

I went back on teh tools the other day after 18 months off and I was makinga right mess....lol the job luckily was a friend so he was sound...lol

Just dont get your hopes up that all I am saying! You may take it like a duck to water some people have it and some people just dont.

I hope this has helped some way or another

Danny

sounds like a start mate plenty of people on here to help you with any problems you may have or come across :-)

Go for it mate. The best dvice though is to get in a with a spread if you can. Youll learn more in a day just watchin than you would in a week on a course.
