It was the stop bead upthe reveal which i found more worrying, i priced that bit of mono up a while back not a lot and werent worried if i got it or not whent back today to build the hearth to an Inglenook, cant upload pics at the mo for some reason and saw that, it was Russians that done it by the way.

Which ways the stop bead going? Rigsby not everyone stop beads window reveals I thought it was just for lads who can't get a reveal straight

I learnt what little i know about mono in Spain and ive never seen a stop bead used on a reveal till that one always a standard bead if the return to the window is that tight just trim the bead down with some snips

people get what they pay for russian ***** down ur way polish ***** up mine basically same s**t different day just charge more to put it right or dont bother and laugh like fcuk in the client s face for havin em ( where r the smileys when i need em )

I dont use stop beads on reveals either. There is not enough room for the bead wings on the angle and stop (overlapping) although it would be a neat job if you could do it with obvious room for an expansion gap and shock (banging) from the door. What I meant was a deliberate cut creating a gap so expansion of the frame or shock does not make the reveal render blow or even cause a crack on the angle bead.

One of the things I was taught by Weber technical although they do not put it down in writing anywhere. Another one of their get out clauses out of the bag!

I do I'm crap at reveals :-) .....loads of room for the bead mate just cut them down if you're struggling and mesh between the beads if your paranoid
you go by tenders surely Inc bills of quants if the beads or cuts aren't on there surely it's down to the builder they should have had the job spec first and passed It on

try using an apu bead john they give you a 3mm gap and you stick them on the frame

Apu beads are shish on monocouche the window moves with the bead stuck to it and leaves a rough looking crack between the bead and finished render. And they only come in white

That's an interesting point Blones. Both SAS and SPS have suggested this idea but if the frame expands with the heat then maybe that's only as good as going up to the frame solid. Besides wouldn't mono go up to the frame from behind the apu bead?

But saying that wouldn't we have this same problem when using thin coat? Or is it too minimal thickness to worry about?
