hi,fellas,i'm doing up my flat it's from the late 60's & the whole building is pure solid rock hard concrete. except in 2 of the rooms, where i think theres been some serious movement or serious leeking over the years & the concrete ceilings have blown in places & big chunks have come away. you can see all the steel rods in the concrete ceiling are rusty & flaky as fcuk. theres also s**t loads of pebbles in the concrete ceiling? what would be the best way to restore complete order with this ceiling?

ive done some in the past and we used resin an this lightweight gear from sealocrete but im unsure what its called pal maybe one of the others can tell

Clean out the areas first and take a wire brush to the steel, then use a zinc rich primer on the steel after that damp the area to be repaired and use a repair mortar if its load bearing then a high buid mortar something like Fosroc Renderoc HB or Weber Mulsifix however it does depend on how deep the blow outs are you may get away with a lightwieght one, just make sure you clean and prime the steel or it will blow again..

Before you put the ceiling up, make sure you drill a hole through to above and put a tiny camera in so you can spy on your hot neighbour.

hi,fellas, pft when you said mf as multi finish & the gypliner as in treat & skim? alan cook, when you said high build mortar & load bearing,i didn't understand what you meant by that ??? theres some pretty big chunks missing out the ceiling. when you suggested weber mulsifix or fosroc rendroc, where do you get this gear from & is it ready mixed? which one would you suggest as there is some big blows in the ceiling? i was just gonna patch it up with bonding, which would of been a terrible idea. also when you say zinc rich primer......which 1 could you guys recommend? tony m,that was always my priority. theres 12 albanian whores in there so i'm currently in negotiations with danny for a pay per view satellite link to this website.

Your local SIG Construction Accessories will do it look at which is the nearest branch to you, give them a ring they will tell whats best

southampton, ash vale, maidstone & manchester are pretty good

zinc rich primer just protects the stee from rusting again you can get repair mortars with it already in however I cant remember the name of it, if you repair it without treating the steel its likely to blow again or get rust stains coming through...

All of the mortars you just mix with water take a look on Fosrocs website Link Removed

or webers website

Looks like weber now call it weber.cem
