Anyone ever done any plastering in Norway? My mate's just moved over there and I'm going out later this month to give them a start. Just wondering price of materials etc. And any knowledge on the houses there if necessary. Hers doesn't have any plaster, she's stripped lining paper off and found it'd been stuck to MDF. Under that there seems to be wooden slats like from the 70s and **** knows....hopefully some joists under that somewhere!

They use a lot of whale products over there apparently, using the skins - criss-crossed - as wall-coverings. Four skins are best for retaining the heat :RpS_thumbup:
 
it's expensive, i know that. bloke i worked for a few months back had just been there. he said a pint was about eight quid. gorgeous country, though. and he said the women where gorgeous as well. and his wife said the blokes were gorgeous. you could take some plaster with you. just been on jet2 and they let you take 22.5kg, so just short of a bag

Well I've seen with my own eyes that some people manage to make one bag stretch round an entire room.... might give it a go!

its proper pricey. when i was there skiing 2004 it was £9 a pint.....................no f**k*r in the boozers till about 11pm. people just get wankered at home and come out for a few late on
 
Been a fair few times to Kristiansands in the south as I have family friends there, no plastering there if its not tape and joint its tongue and groove boards. Mega mega pricey.
 
We done a cruise round the fjords beginning of June, really enjoyed it, beautiful country, tempted to go back end of the year to see the northern lights.
 
Oh btw Jess, I know some boatbuilders that just been working out there on one of there boats. They packaged all their tools and equipment up onto pallets and sent it over, then flyed out when it arrived.
 
Done a few squash courts over the years in oslo and stavanger.Dont know anything about domestic plastering but in winter it gets very cold and it is very expensive for everything.
