I'd welcome anything that could really put an end to "cash in hand" as I'm bloody fed up pricing jobs only to loose out to someone who's under cutting us due to taking cash. In truth nothing will ever put a stop to it.

I don't see how its going to stop people offering cash in hand? It really annoys me when people ask any cheaper for cash. They expect us to take all the risk to save them a few quid. If we go investigated all they have to say is 'I didnt know he wasnt paying tax on it'

If people are silly enough to knock 20 percent off for cash or more, you cannot blame people for asking, the silly types cannot see that ten percent is the maximum you could offer for it to be worth your while, then it may not be worth the customers while,you need to keep records, materials out, wages in, not worth been al Capone for a couple of pounds.

Very rarely take cash anymore, majority of my customers pay by bank transfer.

Touch wood, not had any problems yet.
