A 6mm Notch will give you a 3mm Base coat mate.

Most basecoats for EWI are 5mm or 6mm that's why we stock 10mm and 12mm Notch trowels (y)

how does a 6mm notch give you a 3mm base coat?

Av been using one of these for a 6mm LAC

Av already got one of your 12mm trowels any wez

If you use the 6mm, basically 6mm of material will stand proud from the substrate, when flattened, the gap created by the notch will fill lowering the base to 3mm

1st coat you only want a 4mm coat. Mesh is 1mm.thick then 1mm slurry.

I use 6mm dekor and it sits perfect against a 6mm bead.

The bigger the notch will also give u bigger space between the bascoat. So less coverage on substrate
