Allright Fellas?
All these plastering courses baffle me ???

Why if you want to do a level one city & guilds is it about £2000 and at the end of it your still only a skilled labourer.

But, If you do a three weeks NVQ 2 Course and get a bit of experience it's only £633 plus a free on site assesment and your considered a tradesmen if you pass assesment?

been plastering 15 year never shown a certificate to anyone .if your any good you wont have to

I retrained in plastering because of being rained Off all the time ;D

Thought you were talking about becomming a plasterer hence you should have done an apprenticeship so you wouldnt have to pay jack s**t to learn
 
i want to do my nvq in plastering........ so i can tell people im qualified (what a cock) ha ha
i would if there was a college near, but there's not. there a place in cardiff but cost about 3 big ones to do nvq f**k that.
 
it not really the qualification for me mate i not that botherd about what it is i just want to learn more stuff to do with plastering , and to become more confidant with certian aspects of it , you know what i mean ?
 
You also need an NVQ 2 to get on site as a spread as at the moment going on as a labourers card is proving difficult

Certificates meean nowt but they are good to have. I need mine for when I go travelling but even then its not essesntial.

when id did my nvq in p&d i was told, that there very strict in oz when it comes to working on site and domestic.
but also ive told by some1 that has worked there, that there not.
 
I been working with an ozzy spark he reckons that youhave to site a CSCS over there then you can work on site.

My NVQ cost Nowt so I not bothered I have it now thats all that counts

The NVQ L2 and City &Guilds I have, but be aware, those people who have it look what you are qualified in with the NVQ. 7 units in total, it's a nice piece of paper to have I got them both did it all to get me into OZ the best way. There's a company in Gloucs trying to milk 3k out of people that ain't gauranteed. So be careful. Both quals are better than one. One is better than none. The Level 2 City &Guilds is mostly fibrous you don't need that here in OZ. Render Render Render and a bit more render. Beendoing Hotel in Adelaide. New Hilton/Palm with 12 Brits. Back next week to complete.

By the way in the NVQ Unit VR65 which is not compulsory it's skimming if you dont choose that unit then what kind of spread r u.
 
griff are you in oz now? what kinda rates are you gettin for renderin?my mate got to sydney 5 weeks ago and hes doin demolition just to get his foot in the door, nice to speak to someone in oz just sortin my papers and visa out so will be pickin your brains. :)
 
If you want the qual for your CSCS card then go down the NVQ route. The C&G can only be used towards the CSCS card if you have been an indentured apprentice. If you want to learn then I would suggest the C&G or look at the Diploma quals but they are a bit heavy in all honesty.
