Thought I'd reintroduce myself as I've not been on for a few years. Ain't been in the best of health recently so I stick to small jobs. One set and feck off!

On a serious note. I had throat cancer and had to have my voice box removed. Lessons learnt....

1. Wear a mask if you're doing anything dusty.

2. If you've got a mortgage and a family, get critical illness cover. I was lucky, my Mrs insisted we got it and if we would have lost the house without it.

3. You're a long time dead. Money isn't everything. Stop working weekends!

Alright mate, tough break but glad youre getting better. I work with a girl who's got throat cancer, don't smoke, very occasional drinker and works in an office, she's only 33. life can be horrible and cruel when it wants to be. Hope you enjoy your recovery and relish every minute.

If youre a dad spend some time with them kids, no one ever regretted spending to much time with their kids....tell em you love em and kiss em in public and get down on the floor and roll about with em even if youre knackered. My dads the best bloke I ever met and that was his philosophy, never met a better man and will be happy if I can be half the dad he was.
