scotty.

im having this on site at the mo mate it happens to us all...........unfortunately >:( it's prob just lose paint if it's bubbled or blown scrape very thoroughly it'll only take a poor edge to blow again when it's off either patch with multi or you can use a couple of coats of easy fill or the like

Just use bond-it, paint it on leave for 24 hours it shouldnt peel off then, the trouble with pva it reacts with the water in the skim and gets right through to the paint try pva'ing a wall and rub a little bit of water into it when its dried you will soon see.

more often than not pva will do the job try not using such a stong mix of pva i have found this can cause it

before i skim a room out, which has old paint on the walls. i scrape all the walls with a heavy duty scraper or sky scraper, sometimes paint that looks sound, isnt. usually a heavy duty scraper will remove all the unsound paint, that may look ok to plaster on.

Could be at some point the wall had been painted with whitewash which is fooking murder.Any doubt lick your finger and rub it on the wall if white comes off on your finger it could be whitewash and would need to be washed off prior to skimming

also contract paint is similar, powdery when dry. also silk paints that have been used straight on fresh plaster. loving it
