Just been to look at a total house renovation and a lot of the board work was done up to 6 months ago, now I have never skimmed very old board work but I hear it goes off like a rocket, so what do you suggest, pva, or wba/bond-it over the lot?

and how much is a big tub of betokontakt (or bond-it but i generally use wba) as I cant find a good price anywhere on the net!

cheers fellas

P.v.a should be fine. Thistle bond-it is about 40 the tubs of that are massive compared to the wba

Forgot to mention that they dont always pull in rapid. Can depend on if they have been in the sun much were thet have been put up. A good indicator of this is if they have faded colour if so I usually pva if they still look there normal colour I skim them as usual.

its something to do with oils in the paper i think i was told once. thats what controls the suction normally. if its dried then it goes in rapid. what would be the point in bond it? it doesnt need a new key?

as I have to prep two of the rooms with wba as they are moisture boards, so thought f**k it I may as well do the lot, saves the hassle of pvaing prior to skimming each and every wall!

but cheers fellas, Ill go down the PVA route with that lot!
