I put a splattercoat over some garden walls, prior to scratching day after - mainly because it has stood for about 8 months and brickie had filled most of the joints, but I had a couple of spread friends who passed by for a crack and they thought I was being O.T.T............. Was I ???

Is that sbr I see there bubbles? Don't think it's ott mate if that's what you think needs doing! What bricks are they?

They look like Celcons laid flat. If its sbr or sbr based then it is better than straight forward application. If they are concrete then the splatterdash is not needed but no harm done and shows you give a *u!k .

Well, punter is installing central heating & rewiring on a house I'm doing up, so my time will offset some of his :RpS_wink:

Cheers for comments :RpS_thumbup:

now if you had rend aided it fully meshed then pinned then scratched then top coated it would have dragged it out a bit more

is that rendaid la? plus did you use a pump for that

It's my own splatterdash mix mate............I have asked all the BM's around here (West Cumbria) about rendaid and none of them stock it or had even heard of it before!
I applied it by hand (dashing trowel)

Gibbo, I never thought of mesh

You won,t find Rend-aid in builders merchants. Try some of the big insulation suppliers like Minster or Sheffield Insulations (SIG).

Cheers Rigsby........I wouldn't mind having a look at some, mainly for prepping shiny concrete lintols and such :RpS_thumbup:

Yeah they aint far away mate......They didn't offer when I enquired though (and I didn't ask!)
You going to the Grand Final?

lol i would do the same, to be honest i have had render fall of because i didnt prep properly, so now i defo spatter old blocks with sbr in it.
