Hi guys,

Just a quick question - I have decided to sheet over my existing lath and plaster ceilings and walls instead of pulling it all down, I can't be bothered with the mess, plus it's in pretty sound condition I just want to get a perfect smooth finish for my renovation.

The fixing and the plaster work I'm fine with it's just a question regarding the window and door frames (Surrounds). Once I fix my sheets I am going to have an issue with is becoming nearly flush with the sides of the window and door frames, so my question is what do I do about this? do I need to remove the frames and pack them out with something? Wouldn't that also mean I will need to move the door hinges across as as well so it doesn't look weird?

in almost every refurb they have to be either planted or returned to the door casing or replaced..

hack the the window reveals off and dab and skim making sure the margins are all equal..

its ok to overboard lath and plaster
